Network transformation. Network evolution. Network reliability. Network security.

To say the ICT landscape is network-centric is a bit of an understatement.

That’s why we believe it’s important to interview those who lead this network-centric industry in which we live.

Recently, we interviewed John Lunny, EVP and CTO of FairPoint, and asked him to share the joys, pains, and opportunities of being the strategist and caretaker of FairPoint’s network and technology roadmap.

Below are a few of the questions we asked. Be sure to turn to page 36 for the whole interview.

After you digest what he has to say, jot me a note suggesting who ISE should interview next. (I’m only an email away: [email protected])

Topic: Network Transformation
We hear a lot about network transformation. How does that differ from network evolution? How is FairPoint transforming its network today? What will that mean in 2020?

Topic: Network Reliability
Talk about the challenges and successes you’ve had in maintaining reliability throughout your footprint.

Topic: IoT and The Network
The IoT has the potential to connect 212 billion devices to the Internet by 2020. Goldman Sachs’ recent research identifies 5 key verticals of adoption for IoT: Connected Wearable Devices, Connected Cars, Connected Homes, Connected Cities, and Industrial Internet. What does the growth of the IoT mean for you and your teams? Does it change your network strategy and roadmap and if so, how?
