ISE Magazine’s People on the Move for March 2020 showcases: Broadband Forum board appointments; Kobiton’ new VP; Webinfinity beefing up its BD team; and Beacon Global Strategies (BGS) hiring a 5G expert.

Broadband Forum strengthens Board of Directors with experts from BT, Calix, CommScope, Ericsson, Nokia, and TIM

Broadband Forum announced the newly elected and re-elected members of its Board of Directors, re-election of its Technical Chair and the appointment of its Marketing Chair.

Chosen for a two-year tenure, experts from a variety of leading operators and product developers have joined the twelve-member Board including Francisco de Carvalho of BT, Bernd Hesse of Calix, John Blackford of CommScope, David Sinicrope of Ericsson, Frank Van der Putten of Nokia, and Mauro Tilocca of TIM.

Kevin Foster, of BT, is retiring from his role as Chairman of Broadband Forum, a role that he has held since 2012. John Blackford, project lead on the Forum’s Open Broadband – USP Agent (OB-USP-Agent) implementation and Co-director of the BUS Work Area, has been appointed as Chairman. Blackford is involved in some of Broadband Forum’s most innovative work as it prepares fixed networks for the era of 5G and the Connected Home.

Other members of the Board of Directors include CEO Robin Mersh, Tom Starr of AT&T, Aleksandra Kozarev of Intel, Manuel Paul of Deutsche Telekom, Helge Tiainen of InCoax and Ning Zong of Huawei Technologies.

Bernd Hesse was additionally appointed as Marketing Chair. Hesse has been the driving force behind the highly successful Broadband Acceleration Seminar (BASe) initiative at the Forum since 2017. In his capacity as Marketing Chair, he will focus on positioning the work of the Forum in the rapidly changing environment of 5G, high capacity PON, the multi-service Connected Home, SDN and NFV.

At the Q1 meeting, held in Budapest, Hungary, Lincoln Lavoie of the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Lab (UNH-IOL) was also re-elected as Technical Chair. Lavoie has participated in many of the Broadband Forum’s initiatives since 2003, such as projects on testing and interoperability of various broadband technologies, including DSL, Gfast, TR-069, GPON, and NFV/SDN.

ERP Maestro Appoints Holovacs as Chief Technology Officer

ERP Maestro, provider of automated and cloud-based controls for access, security and GRC, announced that existing company employee and long-term leader in technology development, Jeremy Holovacs, has been named Chief Technology Officer. Chris Scott To Lead Viyu Network Solutions as CEO

Chris Scott, founder and CEO of Netera Networks, joined Viyu Network Solutions in August 2019 as Chief Executive Officer, according to co-founder and partner Lance Wiseman. The Richardson-based company provides managed Information Technology services or scalable cloud-based infrastructure implementation for a variety of businesses and industries.

In 2007, Scott founded Netera Networks, a services-led IT solutions integrator that focused on simplifying, optimizing and reducing IT costs for businesses. Webinfinity Expands Its Leadership Team With Business Development and Marketing Executives

Webinfinity announced that Phil Iserino and Elizabeth Chaney have joined the Webinfinity executive team.  Phil will be VP, Business Development, overseeing relationships with prospective enterprises looking to expand their revenue through increased engagement with partners, customers or even internal employee teams. Phil has had an extensive and successful career igniting sales pipelines at a variety of software and distribution companies. He has held sales and partner management positions at CDW, Computer Associations, ESPN to name a few. Suzanne Tetreault Joins Wilkinson Barker Knauer as Partner in DC Office

Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK) is pleased to announce that Suzanne Tetreault is joining the firm as a Partner in the Washington, DC, office. Suzanne joins WBK after spending almost 30 years at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) — most recently having served as Deputy Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau.

At the FCC, Suzanne held a variety of senior management positions, including Deputy General Counsel for Administrative Law, Deputy Chief and Acting Chief of the Enforcement Bureau, Acting Deputy Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau, and Acting Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau. Kyle McMeekin Joins Kobiton as Vice President of Channels

Kobiton, Inc. an end-to-end mobile testing platform designed to enhance the mobile experience, announced the appointment of Kyle McMeekin as vice president of Channels. Diane Rinaldo Joins Beacon Global Strategies
