What’s Inside? Transformation.

We all know our industry MUST redefine itself in order to thrive. And when it comes to transformation, SDN and NFV are the game changers.

But, it’s not as easy as opening a package and putting transformation to work. There’s far more to transforming telcos into next-gen IT companies than just adopting some new acronyms. The road to transformation requires software and non-proprietary white boxes. It requires mental toughness to resist complacency. And most importantly, it requires being open and passionate about change.

This fall, ISE EXPO 2016’s keynote presenter, Aamir Hussain, EVP and CTO, CenturyLink, shared his ideas about transformation. He spelled out the challenge for our industry. In a nutshell, he said the telecommunications challenge relates to how 22nd Century expectations are quickly evolving customer preferences. Legacy systems, practices, processes, and mindsets, must change to keep up.

That’s why I have some gifts for you this month. Sure, they’re just some articles to digest. And, no, they aren’t wrapped in pretty packages.

But, if you take them to heart, you may give YOURSELF the best gift of the season: the right mindset to face change by embracing new learnings with a fearless heart.

Happy Transformative Holidays to you all.
