Clearfield and WAV have announced a distribution alliance focused on expanding access to fiber connectivity, power, and infrastructure solutions for wireless network deployments across the U.S. and Canada.

Key Highlights

  • Clearfield and WAV announced a distribution alliance focused on wireless network infrastructure across the U.S. and Canada.
  • The agreement expands Clearfield’s wireless market reach, particularly among wireless service providers, WISPs, and connectivity-focused customers.
  • WAV will distribute Clearfield’s fiber, power, and infrastructure portfolio, including solutions designed for wireless deployments.

Clearfield, Inc. a provider of fiber connectivity solutions for telecommunications, data center, and network infrastructure applications, has announced a distribution alliance with WAV, a distributor serving wireless service providers, wireless internet service providers (WISPs), and other connectivity-focused customers in the U.S. and Canada.

The agreement is intended to expand Clearfield’s distribution reach in the wireless market as fiber connectivity, power, and active infrastructure become increasingly integrated into wireless network deployments.

According to market projections cited by Clearfield, the U.S. metro core, wireless backhaul, indoor and outdoor distributed antenna system (DAS), and small cell markets are expected to represent approximately $78 billion in combined opportunity by 2030. Continued wireless network expansion and densification are also driving demand for fiber, power, and related infrastructure throughout the network.

Through WAV, customers will have access to Clearfield’s portfolio of products, including solutions designed for wireless deployments such as the FieldSmart® FiberFlex 1700 active cabinet, TetherSmart™ Multi-Fiber Terminal, and Fault Managed Power solutions.

The alliance gives Clearfield access to WAV’s established distribution network and customer base. WAV operates distribution locations across the U.S. and Canada and serves WISPs, wireless service providers, and other connectivity-focused organizations. In addition to inventory and logistics services, WAV provides technical and application support for wireless deployments.

“Wireless networks depend on fiber at more points than ever before, and that creates an opportunity for Clearfield to bring the same focus on simplifying deployment that we’ve long brought to broadband,” said Marc Temple, Vice President of Channels & Strategic Alliances at Clearfield. “WAV understands wireless customers, the environments they operate in, and the technical challenges they face. That makes WAV an ideal alliance as we expand the reach of our fiber, power, and infrastructure solutions to help customers simplify increasingly complex deployments.”

Under the agreement, WAV will provide solution guidance in addition to product distribution and logistics support. The companies said this approach is intended to help customers select and configure Clearfield solutions based on specific deployment requirements rather than sourcing individual network components separately.

For wireless providers, the relationship addresses deployments that increasingly combine fiber connectivity, pathways, enclosures, cabinets, and power infrastructure at the network edge and other locations.

“Wireless operators are being asked to manage more infrastructure at the edge, often bringing fiber, power, and active equipment together in the same deployment,” said Norm Dumbroff, Chief Executive Officer of WAV. “Clearfield gives our customers a broader set of options for addressing those requirements, backed by the technical expertise and support they already rely on from WAV.”
