Greenlight Networks (“Greenlight”), a fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) internet provider, plans to expand construction of its fiber network across Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, and surrounding communities in Northeast Pennsylvania in 2026. The expansion is supported by an investment of more than $24 million and is intended to extend the company’s infrastructure in the region.
Approximately 42,500 households and businesses in Northeast Pennsylvania currently have access to Greenlight’s network, with additional locations expected to become serviceable by the end of the year. Ongoing construction in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton is part of the company’s broader regional buildout.
The expansion follows Greenlight’s 2025 acquisition of Loop Internet (“Loop”), which now operates under the Greenlight Networks name. Loop’s existing network and operations in Scranton contributed to Greenlight’s regional footprint and added local personnel and resources, including more than 50 employees.
Construction is underway in phases across Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Nanticoke, Drums, Hazleton, Kingston, and Mountain Top. Residents in these areas can register on the Loop Internet website for updates on construction progress.
In addition, Greenlight has announced plans to acquire FastBridge Fiber, a transaction expected to close in mid-2026 pending regulatory approvals. If completed, the acquisition would extend the company’s footprint into Southeast Pennsylvania and parts of Western New York, adding more than 75,000 additional serviceable locations.
Greenlight currently serves more than 320,000 households and businesses across New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
