The Panduit Fault Managed Power System (FMPS) is revolutionizing broadband deployment by delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective power over long distances. It is recognized by the 2023 National Electric Code and is the first FMPS to be certified by Underwriters Laboratories under UL1400-1.

The technology behind this novel power transmission method enables the Panduit FMPS to:

  1. Actively monitor for (7) types of faults and stop power transmission within 2 milliseconds if any fault is detected;
  2. Transmit 600 watts of power of a single 16AWG copper pair; and
  3. Reach a maximum distance of 2 Kilometers.

As broadband providers race to expand fiber networks, support 5G, and power remote equipment, FMPS provides a scalable, easy-to-manage solution that reduces costs and improves reliability.

Cutting Costs & Boosting Efficiency in Broadband Expansion

Lower Material Costs: FMPS cuts infrastructure costs by up to 40%, making large-scale broadband rollouts more affordable.

Reduce Cable Expenses: By delivering six times the power and 30 times the distance of Class 2 systems, FMPS slashes cable costs by up to 60%, allowing providers to cover more ground with less infrastructure.

Centralized Power Management: Instead of placing multiple power sources across a broadband network, FMPS centralizes power distribution, making backup power, monitoring, and system control far more efficient.

Minimize Truck Rolls and Maintenance Costs: With remote power monitoring and real-time controls, broadband providers can troubleshoot and adjust systems without sending field technicians, reducing operational costs.

Save Energy and Space: FMPS delivers more power with less energy loss, reducing heat output and lowering cooling and equipment space requirements at network hubs.

Powering the Future of Broadband Expansion

Supports Fiber, 5G, and Edge Devices: FMPS provides reliable, long-distance power for fiber nodes, small cells, IoT devices, and remote equipment—all essential for broadband network growth.

Connects Underserved and Rural Areas: FMPS delivers power up to 2 kilometers away, allowing broadband providers to reach remote locations where traditional power solutions fall short.

Scales with Network Demand: The hot-swappable, modular design makes it easy for providers to upgrade and expand their power systems without costly rebuilds.

Safe, Efficient, and Future-Proof: FMPS meets the latest UL 1400-1 Class 4 safety standard, ensuring safe and compliant power delivery for next-generation broadband networks.

By reducing expenses, streamlining network power management, and enabling long-range power delivery, FMPS gives broadband providers a smarter, more cost-effective way to fuel their infrastructure expansion.
