The Data Center Frontier Trends Summit will move to Glendale, Arizona, in 2027 and co-locate with Microgrid Knowledge for the first time.

The fourth annual event will take place May 5–7 at the Renaissance Glendale Hotel & Spa. The move gives the Summit a new city, region and place on the calendar after previous editions were held during the summer in Northern Virginia.

Data Center Frontier announced the change during the opening day of its 2026 Summit in Reston, Virginia, which drew more than 500 data center operators, developers, engineers, capital providers and other industry leaders.

The 2027 co-location will bring the data center and distributed energy communities together as power availability becomes an increasingly important factor in the expansion of AI, cloud and network infrastructure. The two events will share an exhibit floor, networking opportunities and select educational sessions covering topics such as grid interconnection, behind-the-meter generation and energy storage.

Each event will retain its own conference program and editorial identity.

“Data Center Frontier has always followed the frontier, and right now that frontier runs straight through the desert Southwest,” said Matt Vincent, Editor-in-Chief of Data Center Frontier.

The greater Phoenix market has emerged as a major data center development corridor, supported by available land, transmission infrastructure and a growing mix of energy resources. The Arizona location places the Summit near projects confronting many of the industry’s most pressing questions about site selection, power strategy and speed to energization.

The call for speakers will be open from Aug. 19 through Sept. 30, 2026, with operators, practitioners and end users encouraged to submit proposals. Registration is scheduled to open in September.
