Christopher Ali Associate Professor, University of Virginia Research Fellow, Benton Institute Dr. Christopher Ali is an Associate Professor in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Virginia. He holds a PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Christopher’s current research focuses on broadband deployment and policy, particularly in rural America. He is the author of the forthcoming book, Farm Fresh Broadband: The Politics of Rural Connectivity with MIT Press, and his writing has been published in the New York Times, The Hill, and Benton Digital Beat, among many other academic and non-academic publications. He is currently a Knight News Innovation Fellow with the Tow Center for Digital Journalism at Columbia University and former Fellow with the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society.
