HCLTech announced it has completed the acquisition of Hewlett Packard Enterprise's (HPE) Telco Solutions business, a transaction first announced in December 2025. The acquisition expands HCLTech's telecommunications portfolio and follows the company's integration of HPE's Communications Technology Group (CTG) business in 2024.

The combined capabilities are intended to strengthen HCLTech's offerings for communications service providers (CSPs) as operators continue investing in AI-enabled network operations, cloud-native infrastructure, network modernization, and next-generation connectivity services.

According to HCLTech, the acquisition brings together engineering talent, telecommunications intellectual property, and software solutions from the Telco Solutions business with HCLTech's engineering, managed services, and AI capabilities. The company said the expanded portfolio is designed to help CSPs modernize applications, automate network operations, and support emerging network architectures.

Among the reported outcomes of the transaction, HCLTech said it has:

• Expanded its presence in the CSP market across North America, Latin America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, including Japan.
• Added telecommunications software, integration services, and intellectual property supporting Operational Support Systems (OSS), Home Subscriber Server (HSS), 5G Subscriber Data Management (SDM), Business Support Systems (BSS), Service Management and Orchestration (SMO), private 5G, network virtualization, edge networking, and related technologies.
• Integrated approximately 1,400 engineering and telecommunications specialists across 39 countries to expand its engineering and delivery capabilities.

The acquisition comes as many CSPs continue shifting toward software-defined, automated, and AI-assisted network operations while expanding cloud, edge, and private wireless deployments.

The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation within the telecommunications technology sector as vendors seek to expand their engineering capabilities, software portfolios, and AI expertise to address evolving operator requirements.
