Nearly six in 10 organizations are prioritizing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into existing technology environments and business processes, signaling a shift from AI experimentation toward broader enterprise deployment, according to new research from CompTIA.

CompTIA’s inaugural Corporate AI Adoption report finds that organizations are increasingly focused on embedding AI into core business operations rather than simply expanding employees’ use of AI tools. The findings point to integration, workforce readiness, governance, and data management as critical factors in turning AI investments into business value.

“Organizations are discovering that buying AI tools is the easy part,” said Seth Robinson, Vice President of Research at CompTIA. “Creating an organization capable of deploying AI securely, responsibly and effectively is a much bigger challenge.”

The research also highlights the continued role of technology departments as organizations expand their AI initiatives. Ninety-three percent (93%) of respondents expect technology teams to maintain or increase their involvement in AI adoption, particularly in areas such as security, support, training, and integration.

Data readiness remains another significant challenge. Seventy-eight percent (78%) of organizations acknowledge that their data practices have room for improvement, underscoring the importance of accessible, reliable, and well-governed data for successful AI deployment.

Workforce skills are also emerging as a key consideration. Among organizations facing AI-related skills challenges, 57% plan to develop new training programs covering a combination of AI, data management, cybersecurity, and business process skills.

“Organizations that invest in workforce development and strong technology foundations will be best positioned to realize long-term business value,” Robinson said.
