5G Advanced will begin to find its way into Augmented Reality (AR)/Virtual Reality (VR) devices in 2025. The overall shipment numbers will still be relatively low that year before 5.4 million VR devices will ship with 5G Advanced positioning in 2026. This is likely to be followed by nearly 688,000 AR RedCap-supported shipments, and more than 745,000 AR 5G Advanced positioning-capable device shipments. By the end of the decade, a total of 77.5 million AR/VR devices are expected to ship with 5G Advanced connectivity.
