About Rodney Heil
Rodney Heil is the Senior Director of Network Optimization at Windstream. In his role he oversees the optimization and consolidation of Windstream’s legacy networks. This includes the planning, grooming & decommissioning of redundant, underutilized and/or antiquated Voice, IP & Transport networks. Within its first year, Rodney’s organization was able to increase optimization results by 4-5x previous years. Rodney began his journey in the telecom industry in 1999 when he began working as a dial-up internet technician for a subsidiary of Kentucky Data Link, now part of Windstream. Throughout his career, Rodney gained experience leading teams in the areas of Circuit & Network Design, Transport Network Planning, Strategic Network Planning, Network Development and Access Planning. After 20 years of experience planning & building networks, Rodney was tapped to build and lead an organization dedicated to dealing with the legacy networks at Windstream. Rodney earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Communications at the University of Southern Indiana.
