Connected Nation Launches AI Literacy Resource Hub to Empower Americans in the Digital Age
Key Highlights
- 60% of business leaders report an AI literacy skills gap within their organizations.
- Only 35% of Gen Z respondents feel they have sufficient resources to learn how AI works.
- 64% of Americans are unaware that the products they use include AI.
Connected Nation has launched a new initiative to help Americans better understand and engage with artificial intelligence (AI). The AI Literacy Resource Hub is a centralized online platform that connects learners, educators, and community organizations to credible, training materials and guides developed by leading technology companies, research institutions, and practitioners.
As AI becomes increasingly integrated into daily life, many new digital learners struggle to understand what it is, how it works, and how to use it responsibly. The rise of generative AI tools—such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot—has amplified this challenge, underscoring the need for accessible, reliable education about AI across schools, workplaces, and communities.
"AI is already transforming how we live and work, but too many Americans remain uncertain about its impact or how to use it responsibly," said Tom Ferree, Chairman & CEO of Connected Nation. "By curating and sharing AI literacy tools, we're helping people cut through the noise."
The resource hub features practical, easy-to-navigate links to trusted partners and learning platforms that provide foundational and advanced AI education. The site also invites other organizations to share resources, helping build a growing, community-driven clearinghouse of reliable information on AI.
"Throughout our nearly 25-year history, Connected Nation has helped more than 130,000 individuals gain essential digital skills, from computer basics to remote work readiness, impacting over 21 million people through our programs, research, and partnerships," said Heather Gate, Executive Vice President of Digital Transformation.
The Growing AI Literacy Gap
Despite the rapid adoption of AI, recent studies reveal significant gaps in understanding and skill development:
-
60% of business leaders report an AI literacy skills gap within their organizations (DataCamp State of Data & AI Literacy Report 2025).
-
Only 35% of Gen Z respondents feel they have sufficient resources to learn how AI works (EY 2024 Survey).
-
A Gallup poll found that while nearly all Americans use products with AI features, 64% are unaware that those products even include AI.
These findings highlight an urgent need for clear, approachable, and inclusive AI education.
