Reporting to CEO Srini Gopalan, Sambar will lead the company's small and medium-sized business (SMB), enterprise and government operations while overseeing emerging business initiatives.
Sambar joins T-Mobile from Public Storage, where he serves as Chief Operating Officer. Before that, he spent more than two decades at AT&T, holding leadership positions across network engineering, corporate strategy and enterprise sales. His experience includes helping develop AT&T's 5G network and leading work on the FirstNet public safety communications network.
The appointment is part of a broader reorganization of T-Mobile's executive leadership team as the company continues to expand beyond its core wireless business.
As part of the changes, André Almeida has been named Chief Marketing, Brand & Broadband Officer. Previously serving as Chief Broadband, Enterprise & Emerging Business Officer, Almeida will oversee T-Mobile's consumer marketing, brand and broadband operations and work alongside Chief Operating Officer Jon Freier to support the company's consumer wireless and broadband businesses.
T-Mobile also announced that Chief Technology Officer Dr. John Saw will assume responsibility for an integrated organization encompassing the company's network, technology, product engineering and cybersecurity functions. According to the company, the consolidation is intended to accelerate development of next-generation connected services, including AI-enabled capabilities and future 6G technologies.
In his new position, Sambar will be responsible for growing T-Mobile's enterprise, government and SMB customer base while supporting newer business initiatives, including T-Ads and Physical AI.
Sambar brings experience in designing, engineering and operating wireless and fiber networks, including his previous role as President, Network at AT&T.
T-Mobile also announced that Mike Katz, Chief Business & Product Officer, will leave the company to pursue other professional opportunities. Katz will remain in an advisory role through December 2026 to support the leadership transition.
The executive changes reflect T-Mobile's continued focus on expanding its enterprise, broadband and technology businesses while strengthening its leadership structure for future growth.
