Ericsson Appoints Christophe Van de Weyer as CEO of Vonage to Drive Enterprise Communications Growth

Ericsson has appointed Christophe Van de Weyer as Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform and Chief Executive Officer of Vonage. Van de Weyer will also join Ericsson’s Executive Team as the company continues to advance its enterprise communications strategy centered on programmable networks, APIs, and AI-enabled services.
Van de Weyer joined Vonage in 2025 and has led efforts to strengthen the company’s Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) and Network APIs businesses, focusing on helping enterprises leverage advanced communications capabilities to support digital transformation and new customer engagement models.
Before joining Vonage, Van de Weyer served as CEO of Telesign, a U.S.-based subsidiary of Proximus Group, and held several senior leadership roles at Proximus. He also spent nearly two decades at Bain & Company, where he was a partner and worked with global telecommunications and technology companies.
The appointment follows the decision by Niklas Heuveldop to step down as Head of Business Area Global Communications Platform and CEO of Vonage effective on August 15, 2026, a role he has held since February 2024. Heuveldop has been with Ericsson for more than three decades and has served on the company’s Executive Team since 2016.
