IQGeo, a developer of AI-powered geospatial software, has appointed Mike Woods as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 5, as the company looks to build on demand for technology supporting fiber expansion and utility grid modernization.

Woods succeeds Noel Goggin, who had served as interim CEO since April 2026. Goggin will continue his role as Executive Chairman.

Woods joins IQGeo with extensive enterprise software and communications industry experience. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President and President of North America Communications, Media and Technology at CSG Systems, Inc., where he led the company’s North American cable business. CSG was acquired by NEC in May 2026.

During his tenure at CSG, Woods oversaw more than $2 billion in major contract renewals with communications service providers. He was also named a 2024 Cablefax 100 honoree.

“Mike has significant experience scaling technology businesses in our sector,” said Noel Goggin, Executive Chairman of IQGeo. “He has spent his career solving the same challenges IQGeo’s customers face now, as they look to modernize legacy systems, migrate to the cloud and scale operations globally."

"I've had the chance to work alongside Mike closely over recent weeks and look forward to continuing to support him as he builds on the platform and market position we've established,” continues Goggin.

For Woods, the opportunity comes as telecom operators and utilities undertake large-scale infrastructure programs.

“Fiber expansion and grid modernization are two of the largest infrastructure programs globally, and few software companies are built for delivering those programs the way IQGeo is," Woods said.

IQGeo develops geospatial software designed to help communications and utility companies plan, design, build and operate network infrastructure. The company has increasingly positioned its technology around the modernization of legacy network systems and the use of AI to support more automated network operations.

Rami Bibi, Managing Director and Head of KKR’s Global Impact team in EMEA, added, “IQGeo has a significant opportunity to build on its strong position as telecom and utility operators continue to modernize their networks and invest in critical infrastructure. Mike brings highly relevant experience, and we are incredibly excited to have him on board.”

Woods will be based in the United States and report to IQGeo’s board of directors.
