At Fiber Connect 2026, ISE Magazine spoke with Belden Broadband Solutions about its fiber drop and pathway portfolio. Mike Smith, Product Line Manager for Fiber Drop & Pathway, walked through the FTTX cabling, inner-duct, and connectivity products the company brought to the show.

The PPC DiamonDrop drop cable, which Belden launched in June, is built for aerial, underground conduit, and direct burial applications. The Messengered QuikDrop cable takes a different route, adapting a messengered coax design to fiber so that crews already trained on coax can keep working the way they do now.

“We have a lot of historical, primarily MSO customers that have deployed aerial coax and now they’re getting to aerial fiber, and they didn’t want to have to reinvent the wheel from a training perspective,” Smith says. “Essentially, you don’t have to retrain all your technicians.”

Smith also showed the PPC QuikPass solution for multiple dwelling units, an 8mm microduct preloaded with either 12 or 24 fibers. Individual fibers run down a hallway and drop into distribution boxes, where they are spliced into each customer unit. He says MDU work has drawn more interest over the past 6 to 12 months.
